Hospitalised while on holiday in Australia. Whist Firstassist (aka Sainsburys Travel Insurance) paid medical costs, they refused to pay cancellation costs. I was left considerably out of pocket. They wriggled out of it on a small print technicality. This was for exactly the sort of reason you buy travel insurance for. First Assist? What a joke!

I have just contacted First Assist for the first time ever and the response I got was beyond beyond belief. Because I could not give my policy number right off I had the phone slammed down on me. I phoned again and was told that I don't have breakdown cover when I do, then because I did not know the correct postcode of where I had broken down I was told they cannot help me ! First Assist what a joke!
