Nike has filed a patent infringement suit against Adidas-Salomon, claiming that a number of its rival's trainers copy its technology. US giant Nike said the Adidas shoes in question infringed its "SHOX cushioning" patents and is demanding damages from its German competitor. Alliance Unichem, the pharmaceutical company merging with Boots, says it has expanded into Russia as it taps into rising demand for medicines. Unichem said it had paid close to £18m ($31.2m) for 96% of AP Apteka, Russia's fifth-largest drug wholesaler.
