Loyalist cash boost 'not enough'

A £30m cash injection expected to be announced for deprived loyalist areas is not good enough, a leading Progressive Unionist figure has said. An official government announcement on the issue is expected next week. Dawn Purvis said she believed more funds were needed to tackle deprivation in loyalist inner-city areas. FA reveals new Wembley delay

Wembley Stadium builder Multiplex has denied it should be held totally to blame for delays in the project. It was confirmed on Friday that the £757m stadium will not host any events until 2007 with delays leaving a threat of compensation hanging over Multiplex. Three of the largest organisations in Wales have ceased to exist from 1 April as part of the assembly government's "bonfire of the quangos". The Welsh Development Agency (WDA), Wales Tourist Board and education body Elwa have been abolished and brought under direct ministerial control.
