A booby-trapped game of noughts and crosses has been used to show how a Blackberry can be hijacked to steal confidential data. Created by a security researcher the game contains malicious code that turns the popular mobile e-mail device into a backdoor into corporate networks. 'Dead baby' mother still pregnant

An NHS inquiry has been launched after a mother who claimed she was told her unborn child was dead found she was still pregnant three weeks later. Julie Brown, from Livingston, said she was told by doctors at the town's St John's hospital that her child had died in the womb. Former murder detectives arrested

Two former detectives have been arrested over the police handling of the inquiry into the death of a Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF) murder victim. Dissident republicans are being blamed for several suspected firebomb attacks in County Down. The Fire and Rescue Service said fires at four businesses in Newry were probably started by incendiary devices. Robberies with knives up 73%

Robberies involving knives have risen by 73% across England and Wales in the last 12 months, British Crime Survey figures have revealed. A policeman's house has been set alight in a suspected arson attack hours after the home of Flintshire Council leader was set on fire in the same village.
