Mortgage equity withdrawal falls

LONDON (Reuters) - The amount of equity Britons took out from their homes fell 17 percent in the third quarter of 2005 compared to the previous quarter, official data showed on Tuesday. The Bank of England said mortgage equity withdrawal (MEW) was down to 8.3 billion pounds in the third quarter from an upwardly revised 10 billion in the second quarter.
