Eircom gets joint 2.36 billion euro approach

By Jodie Ginsberg DUBLIN (Reuters) - Phone group Eircom (EIR.I: Quote, Profile, Research) has received a proposed offer from Australia's Babcock & Brown Capital (BCM.AX: Quote, Profile, Research) and Eircom ESOP Trustee that values the Irish company at 2.36 billion euros (1.6 billion pounds), it said on Friday.
